Project Story: A Grey Marble Fountain for the Aquafina (Pepsi) Plant in Sukkur
Some of our favourite projects come with a deadline and a story. This is one of them: a grey marble fountain we made and installed at the entrance of the new Aquafina water-bottling plant of Pepsi in Sukkur, Pakistan, just before an important visit.
The brief: a welcome for international visitors
Pepsi had just built a new Aquafina water-bottling plant in Sukkur. Visitors from abroad were coming for a large opening programme, and the management wanted the entrance to make a strong first impression. They asked us for a special fountain that would be ready and running before the guests arrived, and that would look good both in daylight and at the evening event.
The design
- Stone: grey marble, chosen because its calm, professional colour suits a modern industrial building.
- Shape: a two-tier fountain with carved bowl edges and a shaped column, standing in a round pool.
- Water bell on top: a special nozzle at the top spreads the water into a clear, dome-shaped sheet, like a glass bell, before it falls into the bowls.
- Lights: lights around the pool and in the fountain so it glows warmly after dark.
Made in Karachi, installed in Sukkur
The fountain was carved and polished in our Karachi workshop, test-assembled to check the water flow, then packed in parts and transported to Sukkur. Our team installed it at the plant entrance, connected the pump and lights, and had it running before the visitors arrived.
Day and night
In daylight the grey stone looks clean and modern against the glass and concrete of the new building. At night the lights turn the falling water gold and make the fountain the brightest feature at the entrance, which was exactly what the client wanted for their evening programme.
